About Our Materials

Tribotech bearings are manufactured from proprietary composite blends of thermoset polyester resins, incorporating advanced polymer technologies. To create the materials, technical polyester fabrics are impregnated with polyester resin and evenly dispersed with solid lubricants, wound to specified sizes and then cured. These materials lend themselves to superior dimensional stability, compression strength and lifespan.

Material Grades

Tribotech composite bearings and tubes are available in different grades to meet the demands of any application. Our standard grades include:

TA 100 TA 200 TA 300
Description Fabric-reinforced polyester resin composite with PTFE lubrication Fabric-reinforced polyester resin composite with graphite lubrication Fabric-reinforced polyester resin composite with molybdenum disulphide (MOS2) lubrication

Our Material Difference

Polyester bushings offer several advantages in engineering applications, making them a preferred choice for various industries. Here is a concise summary of their key benefits:

  • Self-Lubrication: Incorporation of solid lubricants like PTFE and molybdenum disulfide within the polyester matrix provides inherent self-lubricating properties, reducing the need for external lubrication and simplifying maintenance.
  • Water and Water based fluid resistance: Material is ideal for use in applications where part is submerged in Water, Sea Water, Water based fluids as well as in Oil based fluids.
  • High Load Capacity: Polyester bushings are designed to withstand significant loads, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications.
  • Dimensional Stability: These bushings exhibit excellent dimensional stability, maintaining their form and function under various environmental conditions, including exposure to water and chemicals. Unlike many Engineering plastics, the material will not swell in water, water based lubricants and Oils.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Being non-metallic, polyester bushings are resistant to corrosion, making them ideal for use in harsh or wet environments.
  • Lightweight: With a density significantly lower than that of metal alternatives, polyester bushings contribute to overall weight reduction in assemblies, which can enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Noise and Vibration Damping: The material properties of polyester bushings help in absorbing vibrations and reducing noise, leading to quieter and smoother operation of machinery.
  • Environmental Friendliness: The self-lubricating nature of polyester bushings eliminates the need for external lubricants, reducing the risk of environmental contamination and promoting eco-friendly operations.

These advantages make polyester bushings a versatile and efficient choice for enhancing performance and reliability in various engineering applications.
